FRITZ W. PETREE

Fritz Petree, regarded by the learning and talent-management industry as both a thought-leader and strategist, has spent nearly 25 years building top-flight training and development programs for his employers and customers.  Over the course of his career, companies such as RadioShack and Southwest Airlines have looked to Fritz for direction and advice.  Fritz has designed, evaluated, and implemented learning technologies that served as the foundation for strategic plans ranging from changing corporate culture to boosting customer satisfaction.

With a view of the training industry that is thought-provoking, humorous, and, always engaging, Fritz has entertained and enlightened audiences at the American Society for Training & Development, Chief Learning Officer magazine’s annual Symposium, the Human Resource Management Association and the Training Directors Forum.  His varied appearances have included talks on “Marketing Enterprise Learning,” “Intentional Learning Strategies for Companies,” and “The Blended Learning Journey.”  In addition to his speaking engagements, Fritz has been interviewed about employee education by publications such as Chief Learning Officer magazine.

As founder of Petree & Associates, Fritz serves as an advisor and architect for clients of all sizes who want to build and promote a learning culture across their organizations.   Fritz is keenly aware of the major shifts as well as the nuances affecting today’s worker.  That knowledge has often led senior-level executives to call on Fritz to counsel them on the varied ways learning impacts technology, culture, and business.

Prior to founding Petree & Associates, Fritz was director of Learning & Development and Learning Technologies for RadioShack Corporation.  While there, he created and directed the company’s enterprise Learning Technology department.  Fritz also developed a five-year learning technology roadmap to reinforce a philosophy of “intentional learning” to differentiate RadioShack from its competitors in the consumer electronics market.

Before joining RadioShack, Fritz worked for nearly a decade at Southwest Airlines.   He spearheaded efforts to select and manage the airline’s use of learning technology for 34,000 employees.  Fritz also created and directed operations for Southwest Airlines’ Career Development Services Program; his efforts, in part, improved employee retention by 3.3 percent among participating employees.

As a well-known figure in the training industry, associations have tapped Fritz to share his insight and offer a guiding hand on the topic of learning technology, employee learning, and blended strategies.  He has served as a member of the Strategic Executive Board for LMS provider Pathlore Software Corp., the NETg Strategic Solutions Council and the Chief Learning Officer Business Intelligence Board.  Fritz is also a member of the International Coaching Federation as well as a member and past officer of the American Society for Training & Development.

Fritz attended the University of Texas at Dallas and Richland College in Dallas.  He also completed the Masters Level Coaching Certification Program at the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara.
